Dmitri von Klein, born in Siberia, raised in East Germany, and later the American Southwest. He received a Bachelor of Arts with emphasis on history of photography from the University of Oregon.

His fascination with history and the passage of time has led to a lifetime of photographic exploration and discovery. A photograph is a fragile and yet tangible thread that traverses time and space, bridging now and then.

It is this connection between then and now that enriches our understanding of the human experience. It offers the possibility of discovering who we were, who we are now, and more profoundly, hints at who we may become.

His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Vulture, NPR, The Daily Beast, Esquire, Wired, BuzzFeed, Oregon Quarterly, Portland Tribune, Eugene Weekly and more.

Today, he lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico and travels within the States and abroad in pursuit of his work and greater understanding with his best friend Lulu, the Collie Patou.
